Cold starting my 2002 Renault Scenic Expression 1.6 in the morning a loose rattling sound comes from the gearbox/engine. As soon as I engage the clutch the sound goes away.Also the sound disappears when I start driving the vehicle.

If when you say engage the clutch you mean press it down then check the gear box oil.
