I think I have a poor earth somewhere as the rear fog warning lamp comes on momentarily when the brake pedal is pressed, the lights on the instrument panel sometimes dim as well as if the sidelights have been switched on.
Checked the rear lights but their earth is a black wire with a purple trace on both sides that runs forward under the rear seats. There are two earth points by the rear lights that I have cleaned but strangely they are not linked to the rear lights.
Does anyone know where the earth for the lights is located, thanks boys.

Hi check the connections on the rear lamp. The connections will need cleaning and clean the terminals and it should be ok.

Ideally you need to check the earth continuity using a multimeter - even if you find the earthing point a test with the meter will show if it's good or bad.

You can buy a cheapo meter for around a tenner or less in the likes of Maplins or such.
