My meg III is diesel,an has a different induction arrangement to petrol models.
The air intake is in a different area,but the air filter placement looks the same.
A box up behind the battery compartment.
Changing /removing the air filter cover with the battery compartment cover off is simple enough.
I havent investigated how to remove the box itself.
Are you sure this cone filter will be effective?
The main air intake on petrol engines is low down and in front of the nearside wheel.
The entrance "funnel" is shaped for a sort of "ram air" effect.
If you fit a cone filter which is mounted up high and it doesnt have this"cooler ram air" coming in from the front at speed you might just reduce the performance by sucking in warmer air circulating around the engine bay.
Hi mate, I did this and took it off after a week, the noise is so annoying, sounds like darth Vader on e's, I've gone to an enclosed cone and it's sooooooooo much better, still hear turbo spooling up with the dump valve sound if you still want to do it, you need to take battery tray and ecu out, easy to do when you've done it a couple of times
