Hello Again

Last month, I posted the following thread:

"Last week I bought a 2002 (52 plate) scenic. Today the push button of the Tailgate lock decided to eject itself from the lock. I believe that the push button can be can be repaired."

I received a lot of help and advice regarding this, from
Scen1c, Coffeemad Dad and Donald about repairing the lock.

I have now decided that it is about time that I put all the help given into practice.

Having no access to a workshop manual, how do I remove the tailgate panel, to "get-at" the lock?

Hi there, I haven't done this with a Scenic (yet), but when I needed access to a previous shape Clio to push out a dent, there was a screw with a (star) shaped head in the internal tailgate pull-down handle (hope you know what I mean), there were plastic pop studs around the trim holding it in place (use a large flat-headed screwdriver to release these). Refitting is a reversal of the above process.

Hope your car is similar.

Paul:)

Renault Scenic Tailgate Trim Removal

Thanks for the info Paul.

There are, in fact, 6 screws holding the trim:

Four at the top - one at each corner and two behind the "blanking" plugs situated on the top edge of the trim.

And

Two at the bottom - in each of the internal tailgate pull-down handles
