Hi! New to forums so grateful for any advice! Campus prima 1.4 c3j petrol engine, renix injection,engine starts ok, runs fine when cold, but after 2-3 miles stutters when accelerating/under load. had new plugs, and distributor & leads seem fine. Been reading about TDC sensor in forums. could it be fault with this? When press accelerator hard it does go but seems sluggish. almost like choke on but presume hasnt got one. (1995 model)

In a piston engine, top dead centre (TDC) is used to determine the position of a piston in which it is further from the crankshaft. This is used to determine when to generate a spark. Many Renault models appear to experience problems with the TDC sensor, but it is a simple and inexpensive part to replace.

The gasket in between inlet and exhaust manifold usually needs replacing. It's square, measuring about 10x8 cm - this engine has a kind of exhaust gas recirculation. This was a common problem on those engines so i guess this might be it.
