I have had a 1999 plate 1.2 RN Clio for just over six months and ever since i've had it the speedo dies when pulling high revs. Only occationally though, not every time. But it is always fine at low revs. I know some of you are going to say "Drive at lower revs" (!!) but I'm only talking about 4000 revs, so sometimes it can be if i'm just pulling out of a turning into a tight gap in traffic! Anyway, Anyone got any ideas?? Am kinda worried it could lead back to engine management or something  !!

Hello I am Dumbo and welcome, do a search in the forums on Clio Speedo and Sender, as thats the most likely cause.

Usually corrosion/dirt/water in the electrical sender ... its a clean or replace and at £27 for the part a cheap fix, but you need to check it out, plenty of detail available.

hope it helps :)

No I didnt, I tried cleaning it, but it still happens every now than then (less frequently than before, and for shorter periods of time), I think i'll just leave it tbh.

Thanks for your time though
