I have a 1998 s reg renault grand espace 2.2 rt-x dt thats a non runner, its my moms car she was driving to work when she noticed the oil light came on and the engine stalled so she dipped the clutch rolled to a hault and checked the dipstick and it showed that the oil was empty, so we towed it home put some oil in but the engine wont turn over, any ideas of what this could be or how to fix it or what it would need? thanks

Have you tried refilling the oil?
It could be a safety feature that cutts the engine when the oil is too low>

when you say wont turn over what do you actually mean as different people see things differently

If it does not turn with the starter IE starter clicks and no movement is seen on the pulleys then your engine is seized

If on the other hand the engine rotates on the starter IE pulleys move with the starter making a noise then it is most likely your belt has broken taking rockers with it
