What engine is it?

Could well be worn or sticking piston rings especially if it's the 1.5 diesel engine.

Yes they are notorious for high oil consumption due to piston ring problems.

IIRC I have read some where on the forum that you can use engine flush to clean the engine and free the piston rings off? Not sure that it will work?
