Hi

I have a campervan and its struggling recently going up the smallest of slopes and hills. Which is a big issue here in Scotland! I'm going to put it in for a service as its due one but wondered what might be the issue. Its great downhill but as soon as I hit a slope its awful, there is no smoke just no power. Any ideas? It's embarrassing trying to get up speed ^^
As for the clutch pedal it goes in slowly and sticks, i have to flip it out with my foot, checked they fluid and it seems fine! I'm at a loss??

Its a 2001 model so getting on but in great condition otherwise.
Thank you in advance:)

Heard once that air flaps in intake channels can be sticky on that 2,2 dci engine. If they do not open fully - not enough air for engine - not enough power.

Sticky clutch pedal means you have air in the system. Master of slave cylinder.

Sorry Scotland.

More inclined to think the sticky pedal is either pedal box/pivot/linkage or pressure plate sticking on the splines.
Would I be right in thinking that the campervan hasn't had much use lately?

When was the air filter changed?

Cloged air filter would produce some smoke from excess fuel. Right?

On the other hand, slow moving clutch pedal makes your thinking more likely.

So I guess we are 1:1. 😉

Not necessarily noticeable.
Your air flaps is a possible, I'm just thinking on what may be affecting a camper that isn't a daily driver and air filters often get overlooked..... but can rob a fair bit of power
