Hi all,

The wifes Megane has developed a creaking sound at low speeds, going over bumps or turning the wheel causes a creaking sound. I have tried to listen for it under the hood but cant hear it, it can be heard quite clearly from inside the car. Its a '02 Megane II with 32K. Any ideas?

I have a similar issue.

My Megane creaks when turing corners etc, and it appears to come from the rear quarter panels - it sounds more like a bodywork issue, like something is needing tightened up somewhat.

This has only happened in the last 6 months, the car is an 03 plate 3 door.

Anyone any suggestions?

HI there,

It could be one of the bottom ball joints starting to sieze up / wear out.
:)
It really sounds like it's a body panel, either internal or external, like something is needing tightened up. You think a ball joint would sound like that?

Correct me if I'm wrong (there's a fair chance!) but aren't ball joints only at the front of the car? The noise is mainly from the rear quarter panels/parcel shelf in origin.
