should find somewhere in the diagnostics/configurations asking what size alternator is fitted
Get the New fault codes and post them, we can then look for you..
hi just spoke to the guy that done the diagnostic and he said the code showing is DS 102
?

do you mean DF 102 , Did he give the code that was listed at the end this code, a cc, or cl code..

Alternator power signal...
Did this not show before donor fusebox was fitted then?
Strange,
If thats the only code, then Alternator. but only if thats the only code,

alternator was working with old fuse box , as i put a v metre on battery and showed 14.3 v going in with engine running , then just before i had it fitted it was showing 11.3 with engine running as it is now , could the old fuse box have killed alternator , the old one was in a right state corrosion and black on bottom corner ,

this is a tricky one here
Your first test running at first at 14 odd volts then down to 11 is a fuse box related fault
Would it fry the alternator, possibly

Dont want to say to you yes deffo alternator, as these are not cheap.
I paid £220 for the last one for a modus and that was 20% less than retail..

You will need all numbers off your alternator
He could ask you where the signal/data pin is on the small plug, as some have two pins, some have one pin on the left of the socket or one on the right of the socket ( That small wire on the back of your alternator, thats the data link wire, and the fuse box uses this wire to tell the alternator to charge the battery basically,, the part this fits into on your alternator )

Hi guys firstly Happy new year
i had the modus checked out and the alternator regulator was gone , had it replaced and all was fine for a while although it has not been driven much over Christmas , about 30 od miles ,
NOW the engine management light is on, and service light, and is saying check emissions and is running sluggish AGGGGGG can you help /
ps does anyone want to buy a modus !!!!

with you now knowing the alternator was knackered ( well the regulator), your battery might need a blooming good charge cycle as it may have not been running at it best, if you have a battery charger all well and good, if not see if you can borrow one, take the battery off the car and give as full charge overnight and refit in the morning see if the problems have gone away. Renaults hate dodgy batteries, and I dont want to by your Modus, I have one that runs perfectly well thanks:)

If happy with the Battery , Go give it a real good run,
Could just be damp ..
Is it idling ok on tick over?

no its not right its lumpy on idle , did give it a good run at hi revs lights went out but still wasn't right lacking power , and lights came back on

sounds like a coil/plug gone or failing.
lift bonnet lid while its dark, look for blue flashing lights around the coils
just dont touch any,,,, if you do see flashing lights WITH the engine running,, its a shocking experience

lift the bonnet, if you have a cover over your engine, pull this off, If no cover just start the engine you will see blue flashes if a coil is sparking to earth
