hi, just joined ,i have read several of the threads regarding de-phaser problems,mine seems to have the same symptoms it is a 2005 we have had for a year,prior to that it has lots nof work dah replacement ,hand brake recall,what sort of cost is involved with the repair ref the dephaser,will renault help,any replies would be appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the forum

The pulley itself will cost around £140 it means the cam belt has to be removed to change the dephaser pulley so should also be replaced at the same time as well at the cost of around £100 for a cam belt kit nd it will take around 4 1/2 hours to do.

To concur, I would have had to pay about £500 on a 2 litre Espace.
It would be worth discussing with a Renault dealer as I understand Renault MAY have met some of the cost involved but I do not know what the criteria to qualify was/is.
