hi new to forum in search of answers recently bought a renault scenic alize 1.6 driving for few weeks no problems till now !!i get a burning smell coming through the vents its like a burning rubber smell ive looked round engine abit but i cant pinpoint what it may be..so hopeing this is a common prob with easy answersbut funny feeling it wont be lol anyways great to hear your thoughts on this thanks

I would check out the electric door mirror switch they are prone melting on this model of Scenic in some extreme cases some Scenic's have gone up in flames

hmm it coming from engine area though so i dont reckon its that but thanks

Check the auxiliary belt is not deflecting off any of the pulleys and snatching.
This has happened to me in the past.

Our old 8 valve used to have an oil weep from the head gasket. This would drip onto the exhaust & make the cabin stink when idling in traffic.

thats possible ive noticed sum oil drips on floor in garage so ill have to check that one thanks
