Hi can someone please tell me on the thermostat housing is there a gasket that goes with it.i've got a weak from mine so i've taken it of and i cant see a gasket there and would like to know i need one.
I have a megane scenic 1999(t reg),2ltr

any part that is joined should have a gasket fitted to ensure a flat tight seal,i would say yes .if you go to your local motor factors they will locate the part in there parts manual and supply the correct gasket.

Thanks.
Just found there a small whole in the housing, just tried to source one from renault £69.95 + vat( part only).
So filled it with chemical metal(super strong glue) just to get me by

Hi grunner70, some of the Renault thermostats are only supplied preinstalled in new housings (esp. the plastic ones) so you may find that depending which one you need its a dealer OEM supplied part only, which may explain the cost of the housing ... it may actually be a housing and thermostat ... but beware, you usually have to buy the seal/gasket as a seperate item .... esp if its from Renault.
