Hi

I have a Renault Trafic on a 2013 plate and the seat height adjustment will not work. I have had a look under the seat and can see the gas strut in position, it will not move at all. It looks like a previous owner tried to adjust and the cable has become stretched, however I can get a screwdriver/pliers to pull on this but it does not do anything. I've searched the internet and there are no reports or fixes.

Does anyone know of a way I can manually adjust or release raher than having to take the whole seat out and stripping it down?

I did not hear back on here so took the seat out to have a look. The gas strut has seized to the fully open position, the fix is to replace the gas strut part number 7701206638 - A painful £115.00 part. I did try and buy a universal Block Lift gas strut but these were still fairly expensive just shy of £100. The part from Renault came with the extra eyeley parts - Despite phoning around 20 odd breakers I was unable to find this part second hand.
