I'm sure that if Lag owners encountered this problem while their vehicles were still in the warranty period, Renault would have replaced the dash FoC.
In my case (and reading between the lines for others who have had the problem) the fault occurred when the manufacturers warranty had expired. Don't know what the situation would be with 3rd party extended warranties.
The 3rd party warranty wouldn't cover the dash as you always find they will only cover for major mechanical breakdown and not for things like dashboards and the like!, only things like starters, alternators, wheel bearings and various other moving parts, that was the case when i used to sell warranties with used cars, which i did for about 6 years or so!

:d :d :d

Finally some good news to all forum users, I have now been reunited with my Twingo gt after almost 4 weeks of it being at the poorly car clinic, picked it up tonight 29/4/08 and pleased to report that all is well!

Drives fine and no longer has any undue noise from the gearbox area, but as they have had to replace the gearbox and the clutch release bearing i am glad to hear it hasn't.

Anyhoo now i have the car back i can start to enjoy it again for proper now, just in the drive home from the dealer to home(about 15 miles) my month long Mardi face evaporated into a big beaming grin as it flew along dual carriageway and spat me out of roundabouts:devil:

I hope the Twingo is still OK Twingojsh.:)
Hello Lag, Thanks for the question posted, The Twingo is fine and has been no further problem regarding the Gearbox and Mechanical.:d :d

The only problem the Car did have was a minor indiscretion with a BMW while sat still in a queue of traffic!!!!! Result was a replacement rear bumper and a repair to the Bootlid, :steam: :steam:
