Anybody visiting RF after 10.45 this morning may have seen a message to the effect that we had been hacked. This was not strictly the case

We use a product called vBSEO which enables us to present search engine friendly URLs to the world. For example, instead of seeing:
Code:
http://www.renaultforums.co.uk/search.php?do=getdaily
"Today's posts" is actually seen as:
Code:
http://www.renaultforums.co.uk/todays-posts.html
This is essential for ranking well in Google

The hack we experienced this morning meant that when vBSEO was redirecting pages around, your requests were being forwarded to another website - that hosted by the Turkish hackers

I had allowed vBSEO to get a bit out of date so I've now re-licensed the product and done an upgrade and everything is Ok. This problem has not been reported on their support forums, but I will let them know about the problem

So, to recap:

1. We were hacked
2. The hack affected a plugin
3. No data has been lost, changed or read by someone not authorised to read it
4. Your usernames and passwords are safe

Sorry for the inconvenience and if you have any concerns please PM or email me

Thanks

Uhm - hang on a mo. This is not due to the hack, but is due to a fix I needed to make to update vBSEO correctly...
