Hi, I have a 2016 Kadjar 1.5 just out of warranty and the Radio Head unit has died which effectively has made the whole console dead. Renault main dealer diagnosed the issue and says the unit has to be replaced. The cost of the unit is over 700 quid plus fitting and vat which brings it to an eye watering 1200! Even the main dealer said bring it to a specialist with a second hand radio but needs to be coded. I have sourced a second hand working unit but before getting it into the workshop, has anyone gone through this type of component replacement with secondhand parts rather than new? and does anyone know if the CLIP system clears the old code from the component?

Any help appreciated!

The radio unit is part 28115 LAN14

Thanks in advance!

Tony

As far as I know the original code is coded in Vin no, this happened to me in my Scenic, got a replacement radio but had to manually input the supplied code, so make sure you get a code.

Thanks. Was the unit new or second hand?
Replacement was second hand, but it makes no difference so long as you have the relevant code for the replacement.馃憤
