Just an update autu tech says you cant get a true reading with resistance on a halls sensor, have bought a square wave tester from maplins, this shows high and low pulses, you need to back probe the sensor on the centre pin. Now I know the cam sensor is sending a signal cost only £12.00 saves me buying a £110 cam sensor. now I need to find the ignition module, anybody any idea if it has one, or better still has anyone got a workshop manual for a ide engine.

Last and final update, the reason the cam sensor was showing a fault is the cam belt has slipped and threw the timing out will have to fit new belt and then see if valves are bent, I am not going to bother i have lost the will to fix a renault, but I hope my problems can help some one else:eek:
