Thought I'd start a new thread rather than hijacking the other one...

The engine idles very roughly, it feels like a gentle misfire. I've had all of the coils replaced at various points and it doesn't feel bad enough to be a failed coil, there's just a slight shake when you're in sat in the car at idle.

I replaced the TDC (easy job!) the other day after reading that it's a common fault, but it doesn't appear to have made any difference.

Anyone got any suggestions?

This could be partially blocked injector, have you let your fuel run really low at all, if so some of the crud from the fuel tank could have been sucked up, I would try some injector cleaner for petrol engines and see if that makes a difference.

oo I thought it was a good thing to let your tank run low every now and then.

I'll have a go at that, thanks!

Just wanted to mention that the problem vanished after a recent service. I mentioned it at the booking in and they told me after that they couldn't fault it, but it's gone. Wondering if it's just an oil change that did it, or something equally daft...
