My fuel injection warning light is on. In the past a fresh tank of fuel has cured this, but since the car hasn't been serviced for over 20000 miles I think I need to change the petrol filter and flush through some redex with new petrol. Please can anyone help me locate the filter in the engine. It is the 2.5 v6 version mk 2.

I doubt it will help with your injection fault warning, but the filter is usually in front of the fuel tank (underneath the car).

EDIT: Apologies just realised that this thread is years old!

LagDTI is correct, its behind the rear passenger driver side door underneath the floor pan. These filters do get clogged up and can register a low fuel pressure fault with the onboard diagnostics ECU. New filter is about £21 from your local Renault parts dept. Its a motrio and the part no is 86 71 018 138. Advise them that its probably not on their normal parts database and that should give them a heads up on how to find it.

Incidentally its a straight 5 engine not a V6.
