Have Safrane 2.5 S plate - radio from 2.5 R plate does not work - is this the difference with Tuner List & Play List (how do you tell)

I'm not 100% sure but didn't think they started fitting Tuner List stereos until around 2000? and they won't work in older cars. It usually says "Tuner List" on the front of the unit

Hi Colin

Does it power up at all? - Do you have the code for the stereo? Normally it will ask for the code straight away once its been disconnected from a power source so you need to make sure that the screen next to the clock is turning on and showing the word CODE.

The connectors at the back can be a bit fragile so if your screen isn't working then you'll need to unplug and try plugging them back in again.

Also the 97-98S Safranes sometimes had a cd changer in the boot so this may have affected your wiring configuration somehow.

Nothing on display at all - there is a cage to hold a CD unit in the boot (the Radio I have does not have the CD wiring socket)

So do you know that this radio definitely works?
Have you checked the connections on the back?
