my scenic has developed a whinning/high pitched noise when driving at around 60mph, the noise is there most of the time but gets really bad at 60mph and it happens more when you have your foot on the accelerator and the second you take your foot off the pedal its gone but the second you put your foot on the pedal again its back,it is a noise that is definately coming from under the bonnet but where?? please help me solve this or direct me in the right direction, many thanks turbinetrev:mad:

Hello and welcome to the forum.:)

I'd say a noisy turbo fits your symptoms,when you accelerate does the noise gradually get louder over a few seconds?.

A gearbox/diff bearing could also cause a whine in the same circumstances but I would call it a high pitched noise.

hi there thanks for such a fast response, it seems too be a high pitched whinning noise as its unbareable on long journeys sitting at or round about 60mph, many thanks again
