Came across a scenic jobbie (sorry dont know the exact model name) one with loads of plastic door bottoms and jacked up a bit.
Anyhow, it had spat the aux drive belt off, shredded it up and then wedged its self in the crank pully and snapped the cam belt. (you all know what happens then). It had the 1.9 dti lump in it. Basically need to know what has caused it to do this. Do they have a service interval for idler pulleys etc.
Thanks Liam.

The auxillary belt usually comes off due to the alternator pulley coming loose.....it has happened a few times to people on the forum, and is not only a problem on the dTi engine, some 16 valve petrol models can do the same.
