hi ppl my 2004 1.6 vvt scenic battery just started to lose power over night had a new battery fitted only 2 days old nothing left on or anything that could cause battery drain any ideas

Sounds like you may have a parasitic voltage drain and tracing such can be difficult. The VVTi engines have a history of faulty dephaser operating solenoids which can cause a drain even though everything else is switched off so it may be worth investigating that aspect first.

could it be a alternater drain by any chance

It could be a faulty alternator but only an electrical test would reveal if it was. Try disconnecting the VVTi solenoid overnight and see if it helps.

just outa curiosity any idea if this problem could affect idle as iv got no idle when car is warm either electrical or alternater
