scenic 1.9 dci 2004 changed oil as usual around 20 miles after car revved up to red line managed to pull over and stop. started up all ok untill starting revving again went to red line turned off straight away,lifted bonnet found oil dripping from valve on side of of top intercooler pipe (right hand side of engine bay as you look at) cleaned of excess from outside tried again got home no problem just too easy. took off valve and cleaned out housing did have tace of oil in inlet tube. no problems today around 40 odd miles covered until i started car after being left on a slight slope blue smoke from exhaust cleared so when i got home checked housing again and again a fair bit of oil around it, cleaned out.Never had a problem before and car does drive as before no loss of power. anyone any ideas???Many thanks in advance

was the oil level correct.
I have heared of the breather system be filled with oil when topping up the oil which will give you this prob.
failing that think you will have to check for excess play in the turbo.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

You either didn't leave enough time between re-filling the oil and allowing it to drain into the sump and not stay in the breather system,or the breather drain into the sump is blocked/partially blocked.Either way the oil left in the breather system was sucked in through the turbo and blown into the inlet manifold causing the engine to runaway.

You should be OK,it won't have done either the engine or the turbo any good but if it only raced for a short time there should be no immediate ill effects.
