My 2006 Scenic 1.5dci is due its first service and it is booked in on the 13th March, however yesterday on starting up the SERVICE light came on and the spanner started flashing. The spanner is now constant but the SERVICE light is still illuminated. Reading the manual it says it is advisable to visit your Renault dealer as soon as possible. Any advice appreciated. Does it mean that its service is due or something more sinister?

The light is also time set, so the illumination depends upon the time it was fitted and activated - may not be the same time that you bought the car, or the time the car first drove.

Don't worry about it, just get your car serviced on the day you have booked it in and after having it serviced the Renault mechanic will reset your service light and get rid of the spanner If you search this forum you will get plenty of advice on how to turn off the service light yourself now if you want to.
