Hi Guys

I've read a lot of posts on here about changing standard bulbs to LED, but no threads about these latest SMD lights.

I have already fitted a pair of these to the rear number plate Grand Scenic, they look so much better & brighter. I have also tried them on the interior and work fine, as I only had 2 I put them on the rear as 1 bulb had blown, I'm now going to order 10 more to change the interior, but not the 2 in the centre console as I don't use these often, we'll see

The one's below have been fitted to my front side lights as the above on'es were to big to fit in the whole.

I'm also going to order 3 of these for the glovebox & the boot and the light above the 2 rear seats. Are these the correct size 39mm?, I took the old one's out and just used a ruler to measure them, just want to make sure.

I just want to know all of your thoughts on this. As these SMD lights are different to LED, not had any problems with them, as I said I have already tried them on the interior with no probs. I can't find any threads regarding these SMD so hopefully this will help other members. I don't want to change any other lights except these

I'll try & get some photo's up. ( I'm old & not very good with electronics, might take some time)

I don't think my Grand Scenic has one of those bulb monitoring systems, nothing comes up on the dash to say a bulb has blown unlike the Merc, so not worried about the canbus things I 've read.

Thanks Guys

I would guess that the last bulbs you link to would be the correct ones to replace the interior lights, the original part number for the standard festoon bulbs is 239 and they are approx 38mm long. The holders are able to accept slightly longer or slightly shorter bulbs as the contacts are sprung loaded.

I have fitted these to the interior.

I only had 4 to try, I love them, they make the interior so much brighter, I have ordered more, hoping to change all interior bulbs to these, so far I have counted 6 on the roof, 4 for the doors, and 2 for the centre console, I 've also fitted 2 of them to the rear number plate. I have also ordered the festoon version 3 in total, 1 in the glovebox, 1 in the boot and 1 above the boot by the seatbelt. Let me know if I have missed any, 15 interior bulbs by my count. I have the seperate opening rear window but no light on top where it should be just a grommit blanked off, took it off no wires behind there so put he cover back on.

As they come from Hong Kong delivery is a while ordered them 2 weeks ago and still waiting, they normally take between 12 to 24 days.

I've not had any problems so far.

I did some work at DHL, which is now YODEL and these SMD lights are not new afterall, I took a closer look at 1 of there 7.5 ton trucks, and they have them fitted to there amber running lights ( like volvo )

It's the little square thing to the right of the rear wheel before the diesel filler cap.

Pictures taken now, just need to get them up. thanks for being patient.

Ok here are the pics.

Don't know if it has worked.

yes it has

1 of the interior pictures I have changed the 3 bulbs by the mirror, and the lights over the rear 3 seats I only had the 1 so did the middle, the 1's either side are standard and you can see the difference.

Ok, just a quick update.

I've now changed all interior bulbs to these SMD lights, they all work fine, does not effect the auto dimming of lights, I've not had any problems with electrics as yet.

photo before & after.
