I have a 2001 scenic two days after i agreed to part ex the dam thing the immobiliser kicks in for no apparent reason Renault wanted £75 to sort it out with a very clear indication that something else would be wrong and it would cost the earth so here’s the magic

on the fuse panel to the right of the steering wheel there’s a 5 amp fuse noted ALM/IMB bottom row 2nd in from the left remove this wait a few seconds then put in you should hear a beep turn the car over you need to be quick id say you only have a couple of seconds gap before the immobiliser kicks in but once it stars it doesn’t turn off

hope this is a help

Do you need to do this everytime you start the car?
If so that would be an enormous pain, so its not really a solution , just a temporary get you out of jail fix to get you started.

If you did have to do that everytime, I would be inclined to put an in-line switch between the fuse, somewhere closer to the ignition, so all you have to do is click the switch and then turn the ignition. Not ideal but a lot cheaper than the dealers.
