There are reasons why, when you buy a new car, you will have received a spare key, the reasons for this are long and varied and not limited to:

1. Loss of a key - you can still drive the car
2. Damage to a key - you can still drive the car
3. Easier to diagnose the locking/unlocking mechanism of the car which are not functioning - you can test the system with the spare key

Not having a spare key STOPS the above things from happening, with items 1 and 2 a simple replacement should be sought, if the key is found to be the cause of the fault of item 3 then a replacement again should be sought

Coming onto the Forums and saying you have a problem with your key, and its the only key you have, limits massively the advice that you will be given due to item 3 above, we WILL try and help but you have made it difficult

A piece of advice if you only have one key for your car - GET A SPARE KEY - you will be a lot happier, we will be a lot happier
