Hi all,

Whilst investigating a small oil leak, found a "spare" wire in a small conveluted tube down by the alternator. Its a single thin wire, either orangy or light brown, and has no connector on it, but a bare end. have insulated it for now, battery seems to charge, and no apparent electrical issues on dash, etc. Stumped to what it does, can anybody shed a bit of light on this, or provide me with a wiring diagram to trace it via colour code.

Tried to trace it today, doesn't seem to have any effect on charge state or anything major, wont reach anything but the alternator, so lost as to what it does/connects to.

Any light shed on this appreciated.
