I did have a quick search on this but without any joy. Apologies if the question's already been asked.

Whenever I activate the central locking on my Laguna II, I get a high pitched 'squeal' coming from the driver's door. It only happens when I activate the single-locking (double-locking's OK), and it doesn't happen when I unlock the doors. The lock itself seems to be functioning, as I can't open the driver's door following the 'squeal', however I'm concerned that it's a sign of its impending demise!

Any thoughts on what's causing the noise?

Just come up against the same problem. I have this 'squeal' on both locking and unlocking. I took the panels off the door but the mechanism looks like a sealed unit to me (not that I remotely know what I am talking about). Any idea what needs to be purchased in order to replace/fix?
Many thanks.....
