I have a 2001 renault laguna authentique y reg. The other day when i put my ignition key into the dashboard it didn't start,i just kept hearing a loud clicking noise, but after bump starting the car it went okay and now starts as normal. It isn't the battery because everything works on the car and the battery was fully charged a few months back. i'm assuming some kind of electrical problem, but not being mechanical or electrical minded i am clueless. Anyone have any ideas what this could be please?

How old is the battery?.

its only a couple of years i think, but i do wonder if it is the original battery as it seems quite small for the battery plate, i don't know if that would make much difference though, because i have had the car for nearly a year

If it was mine i would take it to a garage and get a free load test on the battery.
