Ok i think that the steel bit of piping after the egr valve is blowing. theres a large amount of soot. Im pretty sure its not from the gasket.

So my questions are :

Is it a common fault ?
Is there an easy fix ? i.e me welding it up, or is it monkey metal ?
Does anyone have a part number for it ?
Why do renault want 110 pound for it ?!?!
Will it need new gaskets ?
And any advice on removing it ?
I believe its 5 ten mils at the egr end and then 4 at the other after removing the engine cover bracket. Or is there anything else thats going to get in my way ?

sorry forgot to add symptoms :
power loss
loud exhaust note
fumes escaping in engine bay rather than through exhaust system
