on my clio sport the stop light stays on untill the car is started as for your no spark i would change the tdc sensor as if this is faulty your engine will not get a spark it should be located on top of the gearbox where it meets the engine it should be held in by two 10mm bolts but see if you can get one from a breakers as they are £50 new hope this helps.
