Stopped to check my car today after being an idiot and clacking the kerb. No visible damage (thanks God) but whilst walking round the back I noticed what looked like a sort of fibreglass string coming out of the back box. Pulled a fair amount out and there was more there when I got home. Any ideas what this will be please? I'm thinking it's the sound proofing from the backbox or something though car doesn't seem any noisier than normal?
Thanks in advance.

Yep,it is indeed the sound absorbing material coming out of the silencer. It's not unusual for a small amount to come out of the seems on cheap replacement silencers, but if you are loosing quite a lot, then the silencer must be coming apart somewhere.I'd have a closer look and see if you can see any damage to it.

I'll move your thread to the engines section to give it a wider audience.:)

Thanks Lag, much appreciated. Apologies for putting it in the wrong section, wasn't entirely sure which was best hence me putting it in the Megane part. Thanks once again.
