Hi guys,

As i said, i'm struggling to find the coolant temperature sensor on my 2002 Clio Dynamique 1.4 16v+.
If anyone could show me where it was using a photo it would be very handy, if not please describe it to me using simple terms.

Could someone also tell me what this 2 comonents are aswell?
They seem to be plugs that do come un-attached so they could be sensors??

The one at the rear is the bank 1 or upstream cat sensor.

The one at the front MAY be the coolant sensor, are there any more sensors in that vicinity on the thermostat housing?

I'm positive the one circled is the coolant sensor, what problems do you have?

Ok cheers for the help, basically i've got all symptoms signalling a faulty CTS...lumpy idleing, running rich, tip of the exhaust is black, and trouble starting once the engine is warm.
Is there any specific test to see whether it's faulty short of plugging it into a fault reader. I spose i could try starting it without it plugged in?

Oh and in reply to bobby, there aren't any other sensors as far as i can see, apart from the TDC sensor lower down underneath the one circled at the front

The coolant sensor can be tested with a multi-meter set to ohms, do you own a meter and a haynes manual?

You could test it first before buying a replacement & find the fault still persists.
No need for the manual can you borrow a multi meter?

And of cause the engine management light is always on, yeh i can always find a meter if need be

Have a look on the gearbox side of the cylinder head if its a twin cam engine 1.4 its screwed into the coolant housing..sorry I cant posts a pic regs forbid that..
