Hi deano, if they stutter then work OK, and then take an age when switching from front to rear or vice-versa, then It sounds like either the pump is goosed or close to it, or the column switch connectors are loose or dirty .... my betting is on the pump .... surprisingly the best place to get the pumps is actually Renault, and they are usually the cheapest as well ... GSF etc do them but you usually have to mess about with the electrical connectors.

hope it helps:)
