I was driving on the motorway for 30 minutes then came off and my temperature gauge was showing 2 bars out of 9. Aka engine is not het up to 90 degrees, I opened the bonnet and my radiator fan hadn't kicked in. So I drove for another 10 minutes the gauge still did not move. Tried reseting the battery still nothing and tried car from cool and just rises to 2/9 bars and the radiator fan doesn't kick in. So I assumed the coolant temp sensor was broken. So I changed it but the problem still persists and it didn't change anything. Anything I should check, help is much appreciated thanks!

Some Mk2 clios had two temp sensors..one for the gauge and one for coolant temp that connected to the ECU ..now you will have to find out if you have 2 or 1..
I would think that the thermostat is stuck open. It's letting too much coolant to the radiator.
Does the temp gauge go higher in slow traffic or when let idle at standstill?
Check battery voltage with engine running - need around 13.5V+................ if thats ok I would call a halt on spending and get s imple ELM327 reader to look at ACTUAL ECU coolant temperature getting reported.
Pull the connector/s off any temp sensor you do have - your fan should now immediately run at full speed .............. yes?
A lot of possible solutions here. Is it a new problem? Or has it just started? If the latter have you done anything to the cooling system recently. If it was my car I would give it a good backflush, replace the coolant and properly bleed the system. Maybe a new thermostat just for fun. An ELM reader would help as suggested above - it could be just the gauge.
