Had a loud banging coming from the rear while dirivig, pulled over to find in the passenger rear wheel the suspension has completely snapped off if the top mount, so now the suspension is just hanging, car is driving ok but I have a feeling this may of been a botched job by the previous owner as does not look like the other side.
Questions
Can the said part be purchased and welded back to the car body
Is it safe to drive

Sorry for your loss but that looks pretty terminal
I might be wrong but a fabricator might be able to remake a new suspension mount which would be as good as new, get some quotes.
Don't drive it in that condition though.

Let us know how you get on.

The old Rover 2000 used to have a rear suspension anchor which could pull away like that - a good welder could repair it (I had mine done back in the 80's) so worth asking a vehicle welder....maybe things are more strict these days, for MOT etc.??

not a hard job to do as long as you know what you are doing but via a garage it may be expensive
