Hi wondering if anybody can help? The toxic fume filter waring light came on in my 06 clio today when I started it up and flashed on and off for about a minute then stopped. It was fine all the way home however bit worried why it came on? Is it safe to drive? also I have a baby and worried about the toxic fume bit?? Will contact the dealer tomorrow but can anyone put my mind at ease? would really appreciate it, thanks

The toxic fume light illuminates whenever the incorrect gases are detected in the exhaust system. As long as there are no leaks in the exhaust and you keep the windows closed you and your young one should be OK:)

Hi strawberry.

It could just have been a case of some unspent fuel passing the Lambda or similar. I wouldn't personally worry too much but definately keep an eye out for the warning again, if it keeps happening or indeed stays on, you may very well have a problem that needs rectifying :)
