All of you running W7 should have seen this by now.
Updates should have ceased on the 14th, mine updated on the 15th, 5 updates and security essentials updated on the 16/01/2020 at 01:47 so it must be still working.

How long for is the question and no I haven't paid for extended support.

The real question is when is the rug being pulled on W10.
Q. What was wrong with XP?
A. It didn't collect enough sellable data nor gobble enough resource.
Every time support is stopped we find bigger machines are needed.
Remember when the Japanese were miniturising everything. The successful company moved to a smaller building :)
They say that tinternet now has a bigger footprint than air travel ?
How are the Linux community doing what they do?
Only thing I use 7 for is diagnostics and that partition will never see an external connection so I'm alright Jack.

I haven't seen this yet

Two computers, one has 7 ond has 10. I do not use the one with 10 much.

Iwith win 10 all the time had some problems like, wifi stops working, computer works slow, compatibility issues etc. If they finally release a proper new windows version, i m okay to update

Bring it on, means I can stop getting updates that don't work so have to use system restore.

Yep, the server farms. Read somewhere there's someplace in the US actually has a heat bloom above it.

You can set your Internet connection to metered connection, stop apps constantly chattering back to 'mother' over the web. I remembered about this after noticing that my Wi-Fi traffic was frequently chocka up to 100%. WTF is it doing? Switched on metered connection (need to click on router in settings), bang all activity instantly went to zero. Also updates are not auto, or less so, because needs to ask your permission to download because you're on a metered connection.

Altho having said that recently my new lappy has done its own thing regardless.

Another potentially useful thing is show / hide updates tool: Microsoft.com - Show or Hide Updates

Anything you don't want you can see in a list and block it (hide).

I think ordinary W10 Home does not allow you to turn off things, W10 Pro does let you turn off things, name your own Network and lots more settings that are disabled in the home edition.
Is your new lappy W10 Home Edition, I think you might be able to disable things temporarily but on rebooting they will be back on at their default settings. Don't take this as gospel, W10 on my main machine died and I haven't reinstalled it yet.
Also System restore is not on by default you have to enable it!!!
All W10 is is a spy advert oriented money maker for Microsoft.
I don't like it at all.
They should be paying us to use it.
