First thing I'd suggest would be to ensure the car is running properly & give it a thorough service.

That'll ensure the best results from any modifications, and give you peace of mind that nothing will go bang as a result.

Well, a lot depends on your budget, and what you hope to achieve.

As its a non-turbo petrol unit, you will probably get around 15-20% extra power from the following;

  • panel filter/cold air feed
  • custom exhaust
  • re-map & set-up
Then the money starts getting really serious; re-profile camshafts, head ported & gas-flowed (which you are into four-figure sums, at this level), but the gains are much smaller, incrementally.

There are of course, insurance implications for these changes, which may well make chopping this car in for a more powerful model the more logical option.

But its really down to what you want to do & pay for.
