Hi everyone, does anyone know wot engine is in my 2000 W reg Laguna 1.8 16v Sport? I was driving home from work the otherday and the car cut out after i smelt burning oil but not realising the timing belt had snapped until i lifted my foot off the clutch and hearing all the valves smashing.

The car is now in a Renault dealership and they've said that when the Timing belt was changed a month ago the pulley had not been changed and thats hows it all gone ¤¤¤¤ up.

Can someone please tell me what engine I have because i cant afford £1300 for the repair so will have to settle for another engine.

Thanks for any advise,
Ian
