I have just got a 1999 V reg cabriolet and it comes with an aftermarket unit, pretty cr4p to be honest. I am after putting the standard unit in. I have a tape one for now out of my old S reg Megane but when I connected it up I get nothing. No code on display, no beeps nothing.

For some reason 2 fuses have been put inline on the wiring but the plugs etc are all ok. The old aftermarket one works so I am wondering if this unit from my old Meg is the wrong one, it is like this but has CODE where it shows SRC on the right:

Would I need one of these:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RENAULT-CD-RA...S_In_Car_Audio_Players_PP&hash=item19c50f8c05

or is there a different one again?

I'm all confused. I like the CD unit as standard for what i need at the moment as it sits nice in the curved fascia that it is part on, not like the aftermarket ones.

Help me please.

Hello Mike.:)

The last one is definately not right,it's for 2005 onwards.

I would go for one of the Tunerlist units (the two look the same to me),but there is a difference in the plugs for the hand controls and the display.

Which connector do you have for the controls/display?.

The ISO connectors should be the same (the two block connectors),one is for the speakers (8 wires,2 per speaker),one is for the power/earth etc.The extra pin in the back of the radio might be for speed increased volume which your car might not have, also another pin for electric aerial which again your car doesn't have.

I'm pretty sure your Megane Cab should have a Tunerlist radio in it that is shaped to the dash but I'd wait for someone else to comment before you make the decision.

Cheers Lag. Like I said, I have a long plug which goes in ones of the other radios, what is this for if that one above fits and what are the bottom sockets for?

Would Renault be able to tell me if I give them the reg etc?

1 and 2 are the ISO connections,1 will be the battery feed/earth/ignition feed etc,2 will be for the speakers. The clips are offset so you can't mix them up.These are the same for pretty much all makes and models, they are the industry standard connections.

3 is for the hand controls and display, this is a Renault only plug (I think).
