I have now replaced every window winder on my Espace in the past 3 years and since then two have failed again! I live in dread of using the windows as I know that dread clunk sound as the cable gives way and the window drops or jams in the window trim. At over £250 a time this is a very expensive way to ventilate a car!
Is there anything I can do to help reduce the failure rate? The car has only done 30,000 mile from new although it is now 10 years old. Renault wont replace them again for free after two years saying thats all the guarantee they will give! - but surely they are really not fit for purpose if they fail so regularly. Anyone got any ideas on this? I would weld them shut if possible but then they would not pass the MOT as they have to open!
