Hello, can anyone please help? I own 2004 16v Auto Clio (Privilege) and have had a temporary job carried out on my gearbox by the AA who made and fitted a clip to keep on the worn ball and socket connector to the gearbox (which would no longer stay connected to enable gear change). I was unable to trace the part from Renault who say there's now two parts as they've since modified the original and it would be very expensive. Ideally I only want to replace the end bit of the cable and have since bought an identical one from a scrapyard which has sent the whole gearstick to end linkage. It seems that the cable does not disconnect anywhere. Will I therefore have to fit the total piece e.g. gearstick lever to cable end just to correct a simple worn piece of plastic linkage? Also, I couldn't do this myself and I'm not sure how high the cost might be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
With thanks
