Hi Mully - I suggest you check all the fuses in the fuse box - also look for signs of water ingress

 

a five pence piece stuck in the cigarette socket will definately blow a fuse, no question about it. If you check your manual it will tell you where the fuse is

 

I have the same symptoms with my 03 Megane but cannot find a correctly labelled fuse for any of the non working items. The fuse box lid shows a Lighter Fuse but there is nothing in the slot (the electrical plugs to hold the fuse are not even there). Does anyone know what exact fuse controls these items please?

 

All I can suggest is if its not were it says in the manual extract each fuse one at a time to check it. Hold the fuse up to the light and if the bit in the centre is missing its blown. Be aware one will be for the radio and you'll need the code if you extract that one for any length of time. The multifunction controller can cause problems too on some Renault models.

In the past I've had to disconnect the battery for 15 minutes on my Peugeot as the radio would not switch off and that sorted out the problem. It could work for you, it could make it worse but I doubt it.

Hi, thanks but I made that mistake already!! I am baffled as I am pretty sure I pulled them all (the ones in the glovebox anyway) and they all look OK. They are not exactly easy to get out unless you have the hands of a 5 year old....I was hoping this was an easy known fault but I guess a call to Renault may in order..?

 

Hi Paul - have you checked below or behind the ashtray for a fuse - yeh renault have been quite cunning when it comes to hiding fuses

 

Washer Pump Fuse

For anyone else who has this problem, the fuse is the second one down in the middle, blue 15amp one. It controls the Cigar Lighter, Waher Pump, HRW and Air con

 

Hi there,

I got mine sorted at the weekend it was a blue 15amp fuse near the top in the middle.

I remember it was marked as being for music (and something else), but when it blew it seemed to stop the cigarette lighter / AC / autostereo & fan cut off on door open and the rear window heater.

I just replaced it with one of the spares on the drop down panel.
