You probably tried to pull it out before you turned key to the end. Try turning it off to the end and pull it out while moving steering wheel left-right gently.Do not use force 'cause you will break the key.

This has just happened to my Clio as well - what was the result with yours? Did you have to get the key cylinder replaced?

I had to have mine drilled out and am currently starting with a screwdriver with key fob inside immobilizer ring.
I am trying to source a new barrel and key.
