Renault Laguna II - Tyre pressure sensors and cold?

Started the car and the tyre pressure sensors, including the orange one on the dashboard and the service light came on. Drove it about 300 yards and all the lights went off.
Can I presume that as the morning temperature was noticeably lower, it took some time for the tyres to reach the normal pressure?

fixed....

Hi,

Yeah, the pressures in the tyres are lower when they are cold, and the pressure will increase when the tyres get warm.

I'd suggest topping your tyres up a bit and see if this resolve the issue for tomorrow morning.

As I recall there was a a recall some years back where Renault re-programmed the TPMS to increase the variation in pressure difference that the system could handle.... Maybe your car escaped that process.

Cheers

just nipped up to morissons and succeeded in letting more air out of a tyre than i did putting it in.
By driving to Morrisons you're heating up the air in the tyres and increasing the pressure anyway. So, setting the pressure under these conditions will mean they'll still be too low when they cool down. The recommended pressures are for when completely cold, so you might be better off buying a guage and foot pump and adjusting them at home when the tyres are fully cold.

WIth the pressure sensors that show the actual pressure, you can see that driving a short distance puts them up about 5-6 psi.:)

You see is that why I got my TPM system disabled. Much less hassle.

I dont need to worry about valves snapping when they get old, dont have to worry when I get the tyres changed.... and no more annoying lights / voices on my dashboard telling me about the bloomin tyre pressures being wrong !
